Learning begins at birth and only ends when we die. We have an infinity of opportunity to learn and absorb and engage with the world in so many ways.
With language some things, experiences, expressions, ways of being, cannot be easily translated. One simply has to “live it”.
Children really are unique and natural anthropologists. Nothing is too complex for them to absorb it would seem. No doubt you have heard of the girl who was already able to speak seven different languages at the age of 4?

Yes you read that right!
So don’t worry too much that you might cause language confusion in your little ones. Speak to them naturally. Engage them on lots of different levels with your language.
In the beginning the conversations will be one-sided. But before you know it they will be answering you in whatever is most comfortable for them.
Give them plenty of opportunity to be exposed to language in a fun and engaging way. We are working with you to make this possible. By giving you family friendly entertainment in Shona. That way it doesn’t feel like “learning”
It’s just having fun and singing along, or doing our challenges, or learning what we are saying and repeating with us.
