Ngano – Kukwira Gomo Hupoterera

kukwira gomo hupoterera

Kukwira gomo hupoterera.
This is a Shona proverb that teaches us the value of taking things slow. Slow and steady wins the race.
Sometimes the quickest way to the goal is the slow way around.
In today’s ngano the Tagarisana’s first born son is keen to get into doing business for himself. He tries everything that he can think of. But in his mind he is not getting to his goal as fast as he would like.
But when his father explains to him that patience is a virtue he begins to realise that he is indeed doing pretty well.

Stories are also a good way of teaching life lessons in a fun way. They are creative and can be tweaked to suit the child who is listening to them. Try telling your kids a story today and see if they can relate it to their world!
