Shona Challenge this May – sign up now

We love the Shona language! And a Shona challenge where we have to speak and learn even more Shona? Brilliant!

So when we were asked a while ago to come up with a Shona language challenge we jumped at the chance. We love 30 day challenges, and it wasn’t long before we were thinking up things to add to our own challenge.

This Shona challenge is open to the whole family. So grownups can join in too. You can take it alone or if you want us to repost or retweet your video then just tag us on Twitter or Instagram. Our username is Sarura Kids.

Take a look at the calendar below and the challenge for the corresponding day. It starts today – May 1st – and runs for 30 days. On day 31 you can challenge someone you know to take up the challenge.

“There is no right or wrong in speaking language. There is just doing.”

Sarura Kids

Don’t forget to set yourself goals for this challenge and for speaking Shona in general. Even if you only listen to five minutes of Shona or attempt a few minutes of speaking a day you are going to be well on your way to understanding more and more.

The challenges in this Shona challenge are a mix of easy, medium, as well as harder challenges.

The easy challenges simply require you to listen to something.

The medium challenges require you to attempt speaking some Shona words or phrases.

The harder challenges require you to have longer conversations or communicate with someone, or mimic conversation with someone.

Take these challenges at your pace. If you cannot complete them you can just watch our videos in our Youtube playlist here.

The calendar is in the image below. If you cannot see it then you can also find it on our Twitter profile here.

Now that you’re ready, it’s time to jump in and take the Shona challenge for Day One!
