Things to do with kids at Aberdeen Art gallery

Ever since the Aberdeen Art gallery reopening we have been going there almost every week. It’s a fantastic space and there’s lots to keep children amused and learning and experimenting with art in their own way.

The middle floor of the art gallery is a magical place for kids to come and explore as it has a brilliant sensory experience that kids of all ages can really get into.
Just before lockdown we went to the art gallery and were fortunate enough to take a video while on the middle floor. It’s straight up the stairs and to your right. Great open space with plenty of room for buggies and active toddlers.

Ano and daddy tried their hand at sketching, before creating their own art for the gallery. We also found a magnetic board which was brilliant for sticking the different pieces to and creating our own unique art! When you’ve created a piece of art you can share it to Instagram using the hashtag #artaberdeen and see how many likes you get!

When things get better you really should visit Scotland. Aberdeen is a brilliant place with friendly people and lots of culture to get into. Details of what’s on can be found on the Aberdeen City Council website

But for today enjoy some of the things we saw. Artists include but are not limited to:
Thomas Becket
Sian Puckrin
Joyce Winfred Cairns
Henry Moore – sculptor
John Philip
Sir Robert Philipson
George Hitchcock
Pieter Bruegehl the Younger
Vecchietta
