Gogo Alice shares a popular way of learning about the world and our place within it that is intrinsic to growing up in Zimbabwe. Sometimes fantastical, sometimes sombre and thoughtful, Shona fairy tales or ngano help us to think of the world in a different way. More importantly they teach us to live well with others.
The beautiful experience of growing up in Zimbabwe involves this age-old tapestry of stories or ngano that remains a strong driving force in teaching children as well as reminding adults of the core values taught by the elders.
